Rakhundi top is located in GHNP(Great Himalayan National Park) a world heritage site. In 1999 This area was declared Nation park and in 2014 came under UNESCO world heritage Site. GHNP is very beautiful and has large number of area of Himachal Pradesh. GHNP is home for many bird species as well as for many beautiful animals. There are Brown and black bear, musk deer, Snow leopard. You can also enjoy bird-watching here.

If you want to get some wildness feeling then this trek is best for you because this trek gives you feeling of far from habitation.

Shai Ropa- Gushaini – Rolla – Shilt – Rakhundi  – 6 days – 56 km

One of the most spectacular treks into the wild is that of Tirthan Valley in the Great Himalayan National Park, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is no doubt a paradise for nature and wildlife lovers. The raw beauty of the valley is full of life, especially cherished for many natural marvels and unseen wildlife species. The trek offers unlimited opportunities to the nature admirers to click perfect portraits.

Day 1 : Delhi to AUT – Sairopa

Arrive at Aut in the morning or anytime suitable; the KPL team will pick you up. Our group leader will explain you about the trip then drive to Sairopa, which is the head office and base station of the National Park. Night stay in the Sairopa rest house.

Day 2 : Sairopa to Gushaini – Rolla

The next day we will start the journey early in the morning to the last motorable point, Gushaini. It was a small village situated on the banks of Tirthan Nallah. 

We will start our trek after vowing to the village deity’s temple, located on the very beginning of the trail. Through a wide unmetalled road, we will cross few villages, and then will enter to a narrow trail within dense greens of ferns and wild plants. Crossing various scenic landforms like natural and man-made bridges, waterfalls, river banks and meadows, we will reach the entry gate of Great Himalayan National Park, from where the buffer zone of the protected area will begin. 

By the evening we will reach Rolla, which will be our first halt of the trekking. The place is situated on the banks of Tirthan Nallah. There is a camping ground and few huts around. That night we will have a bonfire. 

Day 3 : Rolla to Shilt

Next day we will pursue our trek for Shilt, our that day’s halt. Through dense conifer forest, we will climb to the top of the mountain. Through the high meadows we will keep walking in a narrow trail cutting through high grasses and shrubs. The view from there is panoramic and captivating. 

Day 4: Shilt to Rakhundi Top-Shilt

The next day we will climb high in the early morning for Rakhundi Top, which is the highest point of the trek. The place has no trees and only grasses and low lying herbs will welcome us. We will rest there for a while and then will hike back to Rolla for that night’s stay.

Day 5: Shilt to Gushaini-Sairopa

Start the descent downhill retracing your steps all the way down to Gushaini. En-route stop for a lunch break and take in the beauty of the wilderness before exiting the gate and reaching Gushaini. From here we Will drive back to Sairopa and stay there. 

Day 06: Sairopa to AUT

This is the last day of our trip, we will Drop you at Aut from there you can go towards your destination.
